News update 3rd March
3rd April 2020
Dear Parents / Carers,
I can't believe we're already 2 weeks into this new way of working! Despite having no children in school this week we have been very busy organising learning tasks for all the children, keeping in touch with families, supporting e-learning and providing lunches to children in receipt of Free School Meals.
We have set up a Facebook Group for parents of children in 2YO, Nursery and Reception - we already have almost 30 people in it! We have also received some fantastic photos of children learning through our EYFS APP. Thank you.
We have also improved our engagement with online learning in Key Stage 1 and 2, with well over 80% for all year groups taking part. We have sent out or delivered another set of laptops to help more families get on line and have supported parents over the phone with usernames, passwords and other technical advice.
We have not been approached by parents of vulnerable children or key workers about the need for support over Easter so we will be closing. We will not be setting any work over the Easter holidays.
If parents' circumstances change they should contact school through the admin email or through the emergency number.

We have set up the online system to provide families in receipt of Free School Meals with an eGiftcard. We believe these can be spent in local supermarkets and we should have them after the holidays. We will then email out these to parents as soon as we get them.
We have set up a 'keeping in touch' task for the children over Easter on Google Classroom for children in Years 1-6 - we can't wait to see your photos!
There are lots of online activities available to parents - two which have just come to our attention are:
We hope you like them.
Finally - everyone at St Michael's wishes you a very Happy Easter. Don't eat too many chocolate eggs! We will be in touch after the holidays.
