News update 30th Nov

30th November 2018
Dear Parents / Carers,

We have a lot to be proud of and celebrate in school this week:

  • Thank you to everyone who helped out with our bag pack in Morrisons last Saturday - we raised a whopping £494.37 for school fund.
  • We have been very busy with assessments across school this week too.  We are so proud to report how well the vast majority of the children are approaching this week and really trying their very best. This has included reading, SPaG and maths.
  • We are proud to continue to promote our wider curriculum work with specialist staff leading: rugby, Spanish, gymnastics and music over the week.
  • We were also joined by parents for a roast dinner on Wednesday.
  • Rev Paul and Rev Gerrard come into school to explain the significance of advent.
  • All the children have been busy rehearsing for our Christmas productions - not long now!

We currently have a vacancy for a parent Governor in school.  If you are interested please speak to the school office.

We have the school choir singing in the Market Place tomorrow at 11.45am. We might see you there!

Next week we are looking forward to our Whole School Pantomime on Friday at the Tyne Theatre.  We are so lucky that the Friends of St Michael's have paid for the tickets for everyone to enjoy.  We still have a few parents who haven't yet made the contribution towards the transport and would greatly appreciate this £6 is paid this week.  We do have a couple of spare tickets which we are offering to parents on a first come, first served basis.  If you would like to join us please contact the school office.

Please remember we are having a non-uniform day on Thursday 6th December - please bring in a bottle of wine or a selection box to offer as prizes for our Christmas bingo on13th Dec.

Keep up to date with all the Christmas dates on our website.

Best wishes,

St Michael's
