Joseph Production 2019

17th July 2019

In the aftermath of SATs and in-keeping with a tradition of a wide and exciting curriculum, St Michael’s CE Primary School in Alnwick embarked upon the prospect of ‘putting on Joseph’.  All children from Reception to Year 6 took part, with Year 6s taking the lead roles on stage and learning many of the songs.  The children excelled in all areas – turning the school hall into the ancient land of Canaan and the Pharaoh’s throne room.  All music was performed live by school staff and the children performed all acting and singing with amazing gusto.  The evening performance at 6pm in the last week of term was received with huge applause and a standing ovation.  Everyone was amazing with particular recognition going to Millie Greener who played the Pharaoh (Elvis-syle) and Connie Fairclough who gave a commanding and confident portrayal of Joseph.  All the Year 6 children were ‘buzzing’ afterwards and reported this one of many amazing opportunities that St Michael’s has provided them with to enable them to move onto High School in such a confident way.
