Farr Out Challenge

6th May 2017

Five intrepid adventurers: Chloe Givens, Lilia Purvis, Thomas Smart, Natasha Mallaburn and Lucy Jackson set off to St Mary's School in Melrose on Saturday to take part in an exciting day of fun.  The Far Out Challenge day set up by Ian Purvis (Assistant Head at St Mary's in the Scottish Borders) is an opportunity for children to work in teams in a range of disciplines using their creative skills, drama, problem-solving and of course physical!

The team of five from St Michael's Primary in Alnwick were one of only two English teams taking part - the majority of schools being from the independent sector in Scotland.  The Alnwick children took on the challenges with great enthusiasm.  Their resilience and determination to succeed were clear.

Katja Purvis school Governor and parent comments how well the children worked together to complete each activity – “a credit to our amazing school”.

St Michael's  - sporting one of the youngest teams, came joint third and have been proud to show of their medals back in school.

We are looking forward to competing again next year.
