Early Years

At St Michael's Primary School we have an Early Years Unit which includes both Nursery and Reception children.

Our Seal Nursery Class.

Our 26 place Nursery welcomes 3 and 4 year old children into our school. Children usually join Nursery the term after their third birthday.

We have three intakes of Nursery children during the academic year: September, January and an intake following the Easter holidays (dependent on the date of birth of your child).

Nursery hours:

Afternoon session: 12.15 am - 3.15 pm (includes a snack)

Nursery children are able to access 15 hours fully funded  learning during the week. This can be accessed on a flexible basis with parents choosing sessions to suit their needs for instance. 5 mornings or 2 1/2 days.

We have also increased this provision by offering additional paid sessions in Nursery where places are available for children to access up to a maximum of 30 hours. If you have qualified for 30 hours extended entitlement then this will be offered free however if not, you are able to purchase extra hours above the 15 free hours.
