Bishop Christine comes to visit

11th February 2019

We were delighted to welcome Christine Hardman (Bishop of Newcastle) into school this week to showcase our wonderful school and fantastic children.  Bishop Christine was thrilled at the opportunity to visit Alnwick and meet everyone at St Michael's.  She was shown our brand new welcoming entrance area and met with Mr Johnston, Rev Paul Scott and Mrs Chevaugeon (Chair of Governors).  Bishop Christine had a tour of the school, meeting children from each of the classes.  She was very interested to find out about all the exciting learning opportunities which our children encounter.  After this, she led us in a special act of worship where we found out about the important work of a bishop and how they look after their flock with the help of God.  Bishop Christine showed us her staff, cross, ring and mitre and told us a story from the bible as well as about her own family.

It was an honour to have her with us and we look forward to seeing her again in the future.
